About

allFLOSS was born in 2008 with a specific focus on libre/free open source software. We focus on collecting knowledge on the many less known open source packages, and thanks to the participation in many research projects we had the opportunity to build one of the largest database of open source software in many different thematic areas.

Projects

Our multidisciplinary staff has been involved in many free and libre-software related activities in the past, including a representative in the Working Group on Libre Software, one of the first Commission initiatives in the area, and participation in the project, one of the first open source-related projects in the IST program. We prepared the software list for the large scale migration performed in the project, including the training requirements; we prepared the open source health care software database for the project, and more.

.:all FLOSS

FLOSS (Free/Libre open source software) is one of the most important trends in IT since the advent of the PC and commodity software, but despite the potential impact on firms, its adoption is still hampered by limited knowledge, especially among SMEs that could potentially benefit the most from it.

This business present a set of guidelines and suggestions for the adoption of open source software within SMEs, using a ladder model that will guide companies from the initial selection and adoption of FLOSS within the IT infrastructure up to the creation of suitable business models based on open source software.
